Over the winter, Mr. Stephen Walman has been practicing his pitching in his barn. Although, Mr. Electric may only use Mr. Walman in key games in the regular season, look for his S-ball to dazzle players in the playoffs.

I think it's pretty wide open. Seem's like every team will be competitive, and anyone can win on any night. Should be a good season of ball.

Nick it is true that I have been on a non stop workout in the barn. The only thing I am missing is a catcher with 15 fingers because of my vast array of pitches. After last years pitching performance I am quite confident my control issues are a thing of the past. It is amazing what a solid 4 innings will do for a persons confidence.

We used Steve sparingly last year. Steve pitched 4 shutouts innings with 2 strikeouts. Look for those numbers to jump this year. If only Steve can get his hitting down pat this year.

I agree that Steve's most glaring weakness is his batting. He has a tendency to take huge hacks at the ball, but these forceful swings more often than not result in easily fielded, soft loopers that one would expect from a toddler. If his prowess at the plate could improve to match his pitching ability, he would be a much better all-around player.
I had to vote Rogues, as a loyalty gesture to my team even though I will not be in the BMFL this season. Playing closer to home in the Trend-Arlington league but hopefully the Rogues will ask me to join them for the BMFL tournament, where I hope to field more soft loopers from Steve.
Cheers lads, and all the best to everybody for another great BMFL season.

Mr. O'Grady, I took in your comments from last year after I hit that looper at you and over the winter have decided to work on my speed so I will be able to bunt for more singles. My son has been involved in the off season training and I can almost beat him in a race.....he moves quite fast for a 3 year old. Anyway too bad you are not back this year but hope to see you at the tournament and maybe at a couple games this year.

I think the Guzzlers have what it takes to bring it home this year. The grit and determination in their line-up will definetly bring out th best in everyone of their players. Not to mention they have the 3 best rising stars in the league.

It should be a good year in the BMFL with some good players entering the draft. Come playoff time, I think its still anybody's title. It will come down to clutch hitting and a hot pitcher (or pitchers).

I believe the top team would be last years champions, the knights. The Rogues have had a great start to the 2009 season starting with a 3-0 record. Good job to that ball club. All teams seemed to have improved their rosters this year and I believe that all the teams seem to have a good shot at winning the league and the playoffs. Should be a good summer of ball!
Goodluck to everyone!
