I hope everyone has had a good winter, but with the mild weather, ball season is approaching shortly.
Figure I would start on new thread. Any new players joining this year? Any interesting developments for certain teams?

Good idea, Nick!
This place needs some action.
The big news for the league is that the Warriors are coming on board. Bunch of new young guys can never be a bad thing for a ball league.
We have some new players in the hopper, but it would sure be nice to add a handful more. Spread the word!

Evaluations will be held Saturday, April 18th from 11am to 1pm at the Blackburn arena diamond. The raindate will be Sunday, April 19th from 11am to 1pm at the Blackburn arena diamond.

Hi my name is Tom, and by the power of Google have stumbled across this league. It seems that since the RA league has kicked my recreational soft ball team out of the league for winning too often, I have become an orphan. I think that a return to fast ball is in the cards for me for 2009. Now I have read the constitution and realize I am an outsider, but decided to take a crack anyway. I am 27, most comfortable in the field, but can play some infield as well. Decent arm, speed has improved since I lost a few lbs and I am not afraid to get a little dirty.  I live way out in Cantley, QC, but work minutes away from Blackburn at 1426 St. Joseph Blvd. I understand that there is the evaluation this Saturday, but I am not sure if I can escape the forces of my girlfriend for a couple of hours.  If given the go ahead from you guys, I might be able to make my way out there. Let me know. I am really interested. Tom |

Hi Tom,
The evaluation is open to pretty much anyone. The constitution on our site is a bit dated and makes reference to Blackburn resident preferences. That is no longer the case.

Does anyone know who will be entering the draft from last years Ed Taylor's? Not sure which Barber you are, but the only player from ETT that has registered so far is Derek. We have heard of interest from a few other players, so hopefully we'll be looking at a total of 3 or 4 from last year. |
