Fitzroy have their tournament the same weekend. That might make it more difficult to get teams. Last year we had 9 teams. Our 7 league teams, Alfred and Rogues. Now of course Rogues are part of the league so assuming all our teams participate we'll be 8 for sure. I doubt Alfred will put a team in especially with Pierre Lalonde playing with Stan's and Rick Lalonde probably playing with GOB. If the tournament organizers can't attract other teams is it worth it still having the tournament? So far we have had many rainouts and I suggest that we consider our options if more rainouts happen and/or the organizers can't get other teams. What do you think?

This isn't the first time Fitzroy is having their tournament the same weekend though. They didn't last year because they hosted the ISC II qualifier in June of last year so they didn't have an August tournament but the year before, it was the same weekend.
On the other hand, I know that there are a handful of players in the league who play on different teams especially in the GOFL with the Blitz and if they plan on entering the Fitzroy tournament, then some of the teams may be in trouble. I think you could easily run an 8 team tournament even if it just runs from Friday to Sunday and not worry about Thursday (have 2 rain out games played on Thursday and ensure that the teams who play Thursday do not play on Friday).
The RA Valley team may be interested in coming over to play in our tournament along with possibly the Orleans Rebels Midget team. There's also a Cornwall league now so contact that league as well and try and draw teams.

Yeah I agree that we can have a 8 team tournament. But if it's the 8 teams from our league and we need those dates because of rainouts (hopefully not), well maybe we should reconsider for this year. Last year we played the finals into October. Not sure that's something we want to do again.

Hi Guys...just checking out your message board. Sorry we scheduled our Fitzroy tournament the same weekend as the BMFL tourney - unfortunately that was the only weekend available in Fitzroy in August, and we didn't want to do it earlier.
Next year, if possible, I'll try and coordinate with the BMFL, since we would certainly like to have the Bombers in our tourney.

Hi Shannon,
I might try to put together a team for your tournament from the RA with Ed Taylor's Team and Team 6 if the Rogues don't need me and if our playoffs don't interfere.

Hi guys, Word has it that neither the Blitz nor Valley will be entering either the Fitzroy or Blackburn tournaments. The majority of players on both teams will already be playing for BMFL teams.
It's too bad that there likely won't be an extra team in the Blackburn tournament, but it is good news for the BMFL teams that have been without some of their better players in past years.

I seriously doubt Valley will be submitting a team now that we're heading to the ISC II - ToC starting on the 14th. I will send you Chad's contact info regardless though.
See your email.
