At the AGM, a new BMFL league executive was elected and it seems to be considerably different than last season including a new league president and a couple of new members which is a good thing IMO.
President - Wayne Hunter
Vice-President - John Tremblay
Executive Vice-President - Steve Bovey
Treasurer - Gilles Roy
Secretary - Derek Bergeron
Equipment - Steve Walman
Scheduler - Gary Larocque
Webmaster - Shannon Borho
Also there have been some changes to the BMFL constitution that will be updated within the next week. The new rule that will concern most league members is we now have a mercy rule. I had to leave the meeting early so I missed the final details but I believe that it is going to be if a team leads by 10 runs anytime after 5 full innings, the game will be considered complete (regular season only).
It appears that we have an 8th team as the Rogues (who participate in the BMFL League Tournament year after year) have all but agreed to enter the league as a full team. There are some final details that need to be ironed out but its pretty much a done deal.
Also there is a possibility that a 9th team is interested in entering the league. Those details are to be discussed by the new league executive, and whether a 9-team league is feasable, at the December monthly meeting which will be held Monday December 4th at 7:00pm at Stan's Diner just off Innes road.
